Today was the beginning of the weekend att eh church. Went from 8 in the morning till aprox 9pm this evening. Talk about a long day! Began with worship this morning with about 40 kids, and the kids sang their little hearts out for most of it. never seen anything like it!  Sang I may never march in Singela. After the worship, It was time to go into the classes. I was with the younger ones, some of the ones from school, and they drew pictures, and in the afternoon they made a collage of a tree. They are redicuously talented in that kind of thing. The older ones made pictures of peter and Paul.

Today was also the day that I have been waiting for for 2 weeks. Every day when the school is on- we get fed luch by Parody, who cooks for the kids. With them being off, she has been off and i have had to fend for myself. Mostly its consisted of sandwiches and the occaisonal experiment with eggs. I trust my cooking less than Carolines!! Today though she was cooking for the kids at the weekend and at lunch, she pulled out a couple of plates with no spice just for us!! I was so happy!! Had no idea what i was eating, as usaual. Think it was fish and vegetables but it was so good to have parodys food again. [Note to self. devise a plan to persuade her to come to Ireland and cook for me!]

The rest of the day was spent with the kids playing games ( mostly a catching game with the ball which they are shockingly good at) and getting to know some of the kids who don't belong to the school. There were 2 girls there who go to school in Kandy- in the middle of Sri Lanka about 200 miles away.  One of them had not been home in a year... and she was only 15 (And spoke better English than me!!!)  Turns out most of them are related. One is a cousin of that one and so on and so forth! Anyway I am going to bed as its the same tomorrow!!
