Having finally gotten our 'rears in gear' and started on the road round Oz, we headed up towards the Pinnacles Desert near Cervantes. After an enjoyable lunch with Dougal at one of the local restaurants in Mount Lawley and a few final checks we were off.
The drive up the road was fairly uneventful and the car still ran fine after its adventures down the coast. It was starting to get late as we arrive at Cervantes but luckily there was enough light to enjoy the sights...
The pinnacles were stunning and arriving there just as the sun started to set made them look even more impressive. We did however encounter quite a number of kangaroos, alive and dead at the side of the road. Careful driving was the order of the evening - no 'roo bar' on the front of the car so no speeding past nervous wildlife!
We then headed to Jurien Bay Caravan Resort for a few well earned hours sleep. We got the tent up first time, and in only 15 minutes! Just a shame that my body wasn't quite so keen on the hard ground, or the animal noises around us... Hmmm... Sure I'll get used to it!
The next morning we packed up after a lovely hot shower (well needed after little sleep and sore bones) and breakfast (camp kitchen was used rather than our own little stove but I'm sure we'll use it eventually...) and we headed up the coast towards Geraldtown.
