Hello Everyone.
I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE MY STRATEGY - TO UPLOAD A VIDEO I MADE ON HERE. I'M ATTACHING AN MP3 FILE - SONG ONLY (THE ORIGINAL SONG WRITTEN BY CORY ELL ON IT) - AS THE 'M4V' FILE WILL NOT UPLOAD... I will try a couple of other things, but it may be just too big...

We return to Regina tomorrow (Tuesday, August 3rd @ 4:15 pm - to answer your question Karen & Colin).
It's 2:30 a.m. here - I'm attempting to minimize my jet-lag by staying up longer tonight - so I spent the time trying to finish up editing a video - the video with the remarkable song on it that I spoke of a few days ago. I apologize for the hiccups you will witness as a result of my very amateur editing - but it was a lot of fun to make~!
I didn't show Doc till I was near done and when I shared it with him, he asked if there had to be 'so many damn pictures of him in the video...??' (yeah... it's been a bit like that:~)
Inspiration is a powerful motivator, and the song on this video surely reflects that sentiment. The writer (and singer & producer) Cory Ell (from Ottawa) wrote me:
..."So, in times of inspiration, some people paint, some people bake, some people eat, drink, etc. I write."
And Cory does that so well.
This video will close my postings on the Blog (I think:). To respect Doc's continued privacy and Cory's copyright, I request that this video NOT be removed from this blog at this time. As this has been a personal journey, please honor this by inviting people to access the blog, but a future strategy may be utilized through this song - depending entirely on Doc's wishes, and I ask that we not be premature in our excitement and eagerness.
I'm really grateful for this experience and as this is, in so many ways a beginning, I'm curious where time will now take this entire process.
Thank you to everyone who joined us as their time and circumstance allowed. When I look back, it seems like weeks have passed, and it has really, only been just over a week. Looking forward to seeing you all and continuing this journey called friendship.

BEFORE AND AFTER There's a weight that few can handle
A mystery and no easy answers
For twenty years, already seems a lifetime
It’s time for reconnection, it’s time for chances
And half a world away, it’s hard to find
A message for the silent, a vision for the blind
And there’s still so many dangling near the end of that rope
But what I’ve seen before and after gives me hope…
Strangers in a country, far from home
Had to come so far, it’s no surprise
But there are others who have walked the road before
And no way to believe except to see with my own eyes
And half a world away, the soul is yearning
The life beyond the fingertips is finally returning
But sheer determination to know he had to try
And what I’ve seen before and after makes me cry
Hard not to hang on every word, moments into miracles
Now anything seems possible
Every day anticipation, witness to the transformation
Now nothing is impossible
And half a world away, there’s been a spark
A tiny candle flickers, after wandering the dark
And no way sure to know just how the flame will survive
But what I’ve seen before and after makes me glad to be alive
And half a world away, without a sound
The first step taken on the long way back around
And let the pain give way to all the love and laughter
For what I’ve seen before and after…

Have a good trip home, Mark and Kim.
Mark, have a good rest after you come back. Don't come to work unless you feel OK. We'll hold the tent...
Kim, although I only met you briefly at the fundraiser, I just want to say thank you for everything you've done for Mark. You are a true friend. The video was great. You've done a fine job. :)
I meant "hold the fort". :)
Safe trip home you guys! See you at the airport.
Thanks Kim & and of course Doc for the video and song...What an amazing arrangement by Cory, it is absolutely gut wrenching. It must truly seem like weeks since you began this journey such a short time ago, I am sure you have experienced so many ups and probably downs (that we don't know about), but the piece of the video before and after of Doc is a memory for a lifetime. I know everyone is anxious for your homecoming! After you have both had time to rest the "sacred six" will gather soon. Save trip home.
