I have a feeling the next few entries might be a bit sketchy as we celebrated arriving back in Argentina last night and I had slightly too much excellent red wine so please excuse any spelling mistakes!
Anyway, for the time being we are still in Bolivia in a mining town called Potosi. Silver was discovered here by the Spaniards and a huge mine made the town very rich for a couple of centuries. People died in their millions during this time due to the poor conditions and even today workers die  from the poisens in the environment after an average of only 20 years work.  The only reason tourists come to Potosi is to do the mine tour but Mark and I decided to rebel and headed off on our own for the day and explore the surrounding area.
We headed off on a local bus to the near by volcanic lake and its hot springs. The bus driver dropped us off in the middle of nowhere and pointed up  a hill so we headed up. At the top we found the caldera, a perfectly circular pool with water bubbling out at 25 degrees. Just to one side was a small man made pool fed by the volcanic waters. We had the place to ourselves and we spent 2 hours relaxing in the waters, looking at the spectacular scenery and getting burnt!
