Hi all,

Well what can I say.... Miss Noma J is laid up in bed with food poisoning! It only took a week hey! We were booked on a flight up to Krabi this morning but had to delay those plans until tomorrow. Bless her she isn't feeling the best and after rushing her down to the nearest doctor, we got her 5 different types of tablets! She feeling much better than she did about 3 hours ago but still a little fragile!

Anyway, Since the last entry, obviously we made it up to KL. Not without a few wrong turns though!
We decided we'd had enough of over crowded and very touristy Singapore and wanted a little quiet piece of Malaysia. So we headed off to Malacca (world heritage city). There were 2 options No. 1 Bus (3 hours) No. 2 train ( 4 hours). What we didn't realise when we decided to go for the train option was that there were about 3 different trip we had to make to get on the train (MRT, Bus, Bus) and 3 more trips after we got off the train (Walk 2km, Bus, Bus, walk 1km to guest house). So after leaving Singapore at 11am in the morning we finally arrived at the guest house at 10.30pm. Yep that's right. we managed to turn a 3 hour bus ride door to door into an epic 11 1/2 hour journey!!!
It was all very good fun though and made even better by the fact that 2 other couples had done the same thing!
So to Malacca. Fantastic little town. We stayed at the Riverview guest house which had a balcony overlooking..... yes you guest it..... the river! Nights relaxing watching the boats fly past was good fun. It was our first place without air con and we both kinda survived. The fan seemed to be on full blast all the time.
We checked out all the historic dutch architecture which, obviously, I found extremely interesting .... Noma not so much. I'll try and upload some photos when I find an Internet connection that isn't so slow!
Again decided to move on cause you can really see the town in about a day and a couple of nights. We timed it perfectly for the night markets on Sat. night.
We were going to go up to Langkawi but decided against that to head straight to Thailand and Krabi....needed some beach time. We could get a flight out the same day from KL so an overnighter it was....until Noma got sick of course.
KL of course it a big city with lots of pollution and we have both decided that KL sucks. Managed to see a little bit of it though just to say we've "been there dun that".
So that's about it and all up to date. Looking forward to getting out of cities and seeing some beaches. I think Noma needs some time to relax to recover fully. Maybe be even push to budget to the limit and stay in a hotel with a pool!!
Off I go now and don't worry about Noma she's just fine and can't wait to get started again.

Bye for now

Helloo
Sorry to hear you've been sick Noma but you might as well get the sick bit of your trip over and done with. It always happens one way or the other. Lucky you've got Markie to look after you. I didn't like KL back in the seventies. Lots of Love to you both. Mum

Me too
I picked up Bali belly on the last day of our trip. Once conditioned though you should be right. Also managed laryngitis for 3 days, and have had a chest infection since the Bali belly cleared up.

Sounds like everything is going well. Are you bored and want to come home yet? Didn't think so!
