Highlights.

Scuba Diving.
We were on the search for cheap night out when we some how got talking to an English bloke about Scuba Diving. Before we knew it we were sat inside and handing over our deposit for 2 dives 2 days later. Bearing in mind Jade said she would never try diving shows how well the guy sold it to us! The morning of the dive was after our terrible night in the hut so I think the fact Jade was so tired she didn't have enough energy to get too nervous. After our briefing and getting the gear on, we jumped in and made our way to a shallow area to do some basic diving skills like clearing the mask. After some persuasion Jade managed it and soon we started to do some proper diving. We saw lots of cool fish like puffer fish on the first dive and swam along side an awesome coral wall. The second dive was definitely the best with us swimming along side black tip reef sharks. At one point there was at least 10 swimming around us, so cool and some were pretty big. We both really enjoyed it and Jade was especially proud of herself.

The garlic restaurant.
Thai food is already the best we've eaten. We had dinner in the Garlic restaurant each night and the food was delicious. The pad Thai and green coconut curry were especially yummy!

Nightlife.
Although very touristy we did enjoy the nightlife in Phi Phi. We had a few too many buckets (bottles of vodka, coke poured in a bucket) or rather I had too many buckets! The bars were good and played some decent music and the price of alcohol was fair, just how we like it!

Lowlights.

Animal infested hut.
For some reason our first night in our basic hut was fine however the second....! As we got back from our night out we found a huge cockroach in the bathroom, fair enough we thought wasn't doing any harm (forgetting the fact that they can fly). As we got ready for bed we heard a noise from the roof and looked up to see a rat staring at us. We banged on the bamboo wall to scare it off and tried to forget about it as we lay protected by our mosquito net, or so we thought. About an hour later I felt something pretty big crawl all the way up my back and shot up quickly awakening Jade. She then screamed feeling something running up her arm. Jade quickly turned the light on and there sat on the inside of the mossie net a huge cockroach. It was massive! So much bigger than the one in the bathroom. I ran outside in just my pants while jade watched it crawl around our pillows (obviously i could have removed the cockroach with minimal  fuss, but thought it would be good for Jade to learn how to deal with the creepy crawlys herself!). An hour later we managed to get it out and it crawled and flew down a gap in the huts wall. We then spent half an hour tucking in every bit of mossie netting under our mattress, making sure there was no gaps. We both spent the next few hours wide awake listening out for every noise sure enough the rats then came out to play! We could hear them running around in the hut roof but as it was pitch black we had no idea where they were exactly. Soon after this came a huge thunderstorm, the thunder was so loud and right above us. It carried on for ages and was pretty scary. We spent the rest of the night trying to get some sleep and as it got to dawn we thought we might get an hour or two but no, then came the resident cockerel! That had literally parked itself right on our huts balcony and cock-a-bloody-dood for next few hours. We decided we would cut our losses and choose a better place for our last night.

Snorkeling Trip.
We went on a day trip expecting to do some decent snorkeling and go to Maya Beach to see where 'the beach' was filmed. Although the scenery was amazing (beautiful huge limestone island with perfect beach inside) the snorkeling was poor compared to what we've experienced so far, dead coral, few fish. Maya beach was decent and not as many tourists as we was expecting but we didn't exactly have the place to ourselves.
