First impressions of Jodhpur were awesome, a sea of tiny blue houses and narrow cobbled streets with a massive fort in the middle rising like a giant sandcastle. There was a bustling market around a clock tower where we enjoyed a freshly made lassi (like strawberry yoghurt) and went for dinner in a lovely rooftop restaurant with a picturesque view of the fort. Hopefully the photos do it justice!

The next day we visited the fort and its museum and then got to the part we had been looking forward to most; the zip wires! Its a series of 6 zip wires that take you round the back of the fort ranging from 80 to 320 meters going over lakes and valleys. It was a great way to see the fort and the surrounding area although pretty scary at the same time.

The heat is on the rise now were moving east towards the desert and it was over 40 degrees when we did the zip wires and the long walk back down to the hotel was not appreciated. It was nice to recover with an ice cream for 10 rupees!

We picked another nice hotel (so far so good!) got our sweaty clothes washed, had our 8th shower of the day and enjoyed a jumbo thali between us on the final night. Another early night for us as we needed to catch a train at 5 in the morning to Jaisalmer.
