The asana class wasn't too bad. They worked on the headstand a lot which I couldn't do, so I tried a bit of the dolphin, which was an absolute killer on the arms, so ended up laying in savasana (corpse pose...my favourite asana) a lot.
Chanting class was an absolute nightmare! I really didn't want to chant. I'd had enough of about four hours of f@*king chanting everyday. It's bloody overload! I'm definitely not feeling the vibe.
The afternoon lecture was really deep. It was on the philosophy of yoga...the Vedas. He basically told us that the world we live in is all unreal. Everything we have ever known is a complete lie. I could really see some people getting very desperate in the lecture and wanting to be told the answers so that they can reach enlightenment now. It was slightly disturbing to watch. Something didn't feel quite right for me and I had that familiar feeling of information going over the top of my head like in Catechism lessons.
The afternoon asana class was another one where we learnt how to teach people. We learnt how to teach people abdominal breathing, how to put them in savasana and the shoulder stand. For a moment it felt like a bit of a normal course. This is the part I enjoy.
For the evening satsang we had a silent walk to the Dam Wall with over 200 people (not an easy thing to pull off but they just about did it). We sat on the wall and chanted a bit. It was a hot sticky night despite the rain clouds being around and the little bit of drizzle here and there. I've got used to being hot and sticky all the time. You jump out of a cold shower and within minutes you are hot and sticky again.
I've got Friday to look forward to....the girls in my section of the dorm are all going to catch a taxi into Kovulum. A day of shopping, hanging out at the beach and eating normal food. Just what I need! That will be on day 6...today is day 4....not long now....
