I have been back on site now for a week. Things are still going well, and I am on track to finish my data collection by the end of the summer. I am just over half way done and still have 4 weeks left.
The site is getting more and more crowded by the day. Right now there are about 100 people living on the compound. When I first arrived there were only 30! Needless to say it feels a bit cramped around there. We will be that full for the next 3 weeks and then it begins to drop down again.
A new team arrived last week and they are trying to arrange a soccer game between the various groups of excavators at the local pitch. I am definitely looking forward to that, and will try to post photos of the game next week.
Unfortunately, there is not much exitement on the mound. There is lots of digging, but nothing earth shattering. And, I guess I have a one-track mind, there aren't much skeletons coming out of the ground so I am not all that interested in the other stuff. Last year by this time we had uncovered almost 45 skeletons and this year we have only found around 18. I shouldn't be complaining though, the fact that it is a bit slower this year has afforded me lots of time to get my data collection going.
I am sure that lots of you have been following the events occurring in the Middle East over the past week, and I just want to assure you all that we are quite safe out here. And if any problems should arise this far west, we should have no problems getting out. But I do not anticipate having to do that.
Well, on to the photos. Sorry about more photos of teeth, but it is all I can think about!

Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Is it OK to ask more?
Also not only are you hunched over, but I love the aergonomic chair. I guess a late in the morning is out as well.
Look forward to more. Stay safe. I hear Turkey is a vacation spot for Israelies, and so sometimes a target.
Best of love.
