It is so frustrating trying to contact people abroad. I have joined various expat sites in Guatemala and have had some people write me back. But, most of the time, they don't talk about showing me around or offering me any real help when I am there. I have been trying to get someone to pick me up at the airport and deliver me to the hotel. When I looked on the hotel website, they apparently offer this service, but getting them to answer my email is another story. I even tried calling the hotel, but couldn’t get through. So, I ended up sending another email (in English because my Espanol es un poco y no mui bien.) I sure hope someone there understands English. This trip is less than 3 weeks away and I want as much in place as possible. But, I have to reconcile myself with the fact that I may have to just wing it as I go.
