And check your directions...

Webster is doing some major road construction, so Google Maps, MapQuest, and my Garmin GPS showed no trace of the new exit, or the new road named "NASA Parkway". After a few wrong turns and a phone call, I finally found Johnson Space Center. (I would have done better if I'd just driven down the few main roads and looked out the window! ha)

Parking was $5 and the lot had few cars, not many more than you'd see at Wal-Mart on a Saturday. My admission coupon had expired, but the ticket taker had a current one for half-off and offered it to me. Nice! A full day of geek-fun for only $15.

Another note if you plan to visit: even though their site and the actual eating area look like a mall food court, the food stands are only open for about 2 hours at lunch. If you miss it, you'll just go hungry. And, no, they don't mention it on their site, or have any signs in the building. This matters, because the tram ride is 1 1/2 hours, the movies and other activities last from 25-50 minutes each, and everything is tightly scheduled - there's very little you can do that doesn't have a specific starting time. So if you don't eat during those exact 2 hours, you're out of luck. Yes, I sent an email, but it was actually pretty nice since everything else was so terrific. :-)   www.spacecenter.org

Enjoy the photos and descriptions, and be sure to check out the video at the end!      >>NOTE<<  If you look at the photos in slideshow mode, you'll see titles but no descriptions; instead, click on the first photo above, then click "Next "underneath it when you're ready to move to the next one. I put all the detail under each photo so it would be easier to know what you were looking at, rather than here in the entry.
