I took many photographs while in Agra.  You can't help yourself when you're in the presence of the Taj Mahal!  What a magnificent structure.  And there were more beautiful sights in Agra.  Agra Fort, Akbar's Tomb..and a million and one tourist hotels (those were not beautiful sights..)  The usual mad scramble was to be seen on the streets.  Muna, my travel agent, said that one day in Agra is all anyone needs.. he evidently feels the same about Agra as I do about Delhi..haha.

The weather has been splendid every single day.  Very hot.. but dry, and sunny, sunny, sunny.  I'm not really built for the heat.  Combine that fact with my uncertainty over what I should eat, it makes for a strange feeling most of the time! I don't want to resort to living on Lays Potato Chips (which are quite popular!) and I'm determined to eat healthily.. so I've enjoyed the local vegetarian fare, but I fear I eat TOO MUCH of it, as ever.  I've been swilling water.  Ironic that it's taken me to my 44th year to finally start drinking lots of water!

Mr Singh chauffeured me from Jaipur to Agra and then back to Delhi.  He knew all the back roads of Jaipur, and Agra.. and took me to the tourist must-sees like Jaipur Palace, the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, etc., and he also took me to out of the way places like a marble factory, and the textile factory that I found so many treasures in Jaipur.

He indulged my coffee shop habit by bringing me to the same place each morning while in Jaipur.  That big mug of coffee and something that was meant to be a croissant, but was more like a braided loaf of bread, saw me through the day.  The heat was chronic, and the scenery was dreamlike.. the haze of the heat and the splendour of the structures.. it was a relaxed road trip, and a great antidote to the Delhi tremours (DTs!) I had been experiencing.

Enjoy the photos.
