We packed up a large bag not required for the next two weeks and ready for the flight home. R then took a taxi to the hotel already booked near to the airport to leave it for the 17th Feb. the taxi driver had problems finding it even with the Thai address but got there in the end. Then to Suvarnabhumi airport to catch a train back to Bangkok. Express had just left so caught the stopper and then the BTS from Phaya Thai to the local ferry and back to the hotel by 3.30.
M had a read and swim at the Ibis Riverside.
Walked to little local restaurant called Mascotte which was so pleasant and clean and very cheap. Had green curry and hot soup. Walked over our Taksin Bridge, buzzing with traffic everywhere including the river. Markets in full swing walked all the way down Silom Road to the Pullman and back. So much variety and action, sights, sounds and smells which we have grown used to. Had a very expensive drink in a nice Italian jazz bar and then walked back to Mascotte for their famous hot chocolate. R had chicken in cashews.
Now need to pack for 4 am taxi to begin the trip south.
