Where I stayed
Yep, our last official full day in Spain is finally here. And we're all ready for it to be over and to get home.
We got up this morning and headed to the metro, to meet Amy at the Sol metro stop. She was in London this summer and was spending extra time before going back to Tulsa in Spain. So we met up with her and her two friends. We really just kind of did stupid stuff. We went to some place right by there that is famous for their chocolate and churros. The chocolate was seriously just a cup filled with melted chocolate. I didn't eat any because I didn't feel well at all this morning, but Anna/Madison/Mom liked them. Anna ate the entire cup of chocolate just with her spoon pretty much. Then we went and walked around that area, went into some touristy shops because Madison wanted to get Purvis a Real Madrid shirt (not a Barcelona team shirt, because we liked Madrid better). We got that, then walked to the Atocha train station, because Anna likes it there because they have turtles. We saw the turtles then went to go find lunch. We had lunch (coincidentally) at the same place Madison and I had coffee two at on Sunday. I got a plate of calamari, Amy and friends got calamari bocadillos, Mom got a jamon bocadillo, Madison a salmon bocadillo, and Anna a steak sandwich.
Then we headed back to Barajas for siestas and to pack for tomorrow. Most of the afternoon was spent packing and doing random stuff like that. The girls took a nap, mom and I went out to have our last drinks at our drink spot. We had one, then decided we should probably go wake up the girls, since it was 7:30 already, adn we wanted them to be able to sleep at night. I woke up Madison and she came and joined us but Anna didn't really want to get up. We had another drink, then came back and got Anna. We went to dinner at our dinner place again, with our favorite meal of ox, fries, aioli, chorizo, and peppers. Right when we were finishing up dinner, Pepe showed up to bring us the suitcase. Mom, Madison, Anna, and Pepe went and had a drink while I went to shower. We said goodbye to Pepe and went to bed.
The flight back the next day went really well. 100% well. Nothing went wrong. The first flight we had evil people in front of us who crushed my knees the whole time by leaning her chair back on them and then kept glaring at me. Not like I could help it, they touched her chair WITHOUT her leaning it back, and then leaning it back I couldn't move at all. But anyway, there were tv's in the chairs and so you could pick any of like 20 movies, 20 tv shows, some games, etc. to do/watch. That made the plane ride go by so fast. I watched The Eagle (good), The Roommate (aka single white remake), and The Dilemma (i was bored but liked the end). Madison watched The Roommate, Hall Pass, and Green Hornet. Anna watched Monsters Inc., Hall Pass, and not sure what else. Mom watched Hall Pass and Green Hornet I think. We got through customs/immigration pretty quick, and went and had our delicious American meal of Wendy's and Auntie Anne's pretzals. We really wanted Taco Bell but there wasn't one in the terminals close, not sure if one even in the airport. Then we flew to KC, got there a little early even. Aunt Sara picked up Madison and I and drove us home (Taco Bell for dinner!!!), and Mom and Anna went with Aunt Kathy for Anna's orientation tomorrow. Overall, easy day.
Thank you for reading my blog!
