The other day I was half listening to the radio and heard a story about how the name your parents give you is as important to your development as the DNA we get from them.  So it's all your parents fault if they name you Hester or Archibald.  Last night I came across a book describing the hidden meanings behind your name and of course I couldn't resist looking up my name - Margaritha.  What I read made me laugh out loud and those of you who know me might recognize some of this...

"The purpose of Margaritha's existence is simply to cram in as much enjoyment as possible....Margaritha especially enjoys the sensuous pleasures - beautiful objects, people, lovingly prepared foods, long vacations in exotic locales....Margarita will go without a number of things in order to ensure her two weeks in the sun...."

"She enjoys increasing her intellectual knowledge....Eager to share what she's learned...tends to keep her innermost feelings to herself.  She can  be a bit self protective, but when she gives her heart, it is with sincerity and purpose"

Well, that last part is what got me into trouble...again.

So now I'm in Boulder where the variety of healing modalities (ooh, I'm picking up the lingo!) is mind boggling.  I definitely needed some help but to begin?  I had a sense that I needed energy work but given that I know nothing about that and the number of, how do I put this delicately, quacks there are out there, I was confused to say the least.  Remember that I don't believe in coincidence so it ended up being a fairly easy decision.  While I was still in Peru, I had an e-mail from Jamie, a friend in Denver whom I hadn't seen in several years.  We've known each other since high school although we haven't spent much time together for a while.  She was compelled to write me and find out what was going on with me.  Boy did she get an earful!  When I got to Boulder she came to visit me and brought some information that she thought might be helpful for me.  One is a self treatment method called EFT.  I don't know if this works or not but from the first time I tried it I felt better.  Adding to the "there are no coincidences" department: A woman I met in the Galapagos was a therapist who was using this method with incredible results.  Shit, I sound like a commercial!  Really, I'm not getting paid to write this.

The other thing Jamie brought was information about a place in Denver that does aura healings clinics and trance medium healings.  I decided I had nothing to lose and I went to an aura healing clinic last   night.  BTW...that's where I found the name book.  For the healing I sat in a chair in a darkened room with soothing music playing on the background.  I closed my eyes and so didn't see what the healer was doing but I did feel a lot of energy buzzing in my body.  And ever since this healing I've been feeling much better emotionally.  So there you are.

On Friday night I went to a trans-medium healing offered by this same group.  I had no idea what to expect...The first part of the evening is an open channeling.  Three people were sitting in chairs facing the audience of about 40 people.  Their eyes were closed and the woman in the middle was swaying in her chair.  After a while the audience was able to ask for healings around certain issues int heir lives.  The swaying woman was the only one who spoke and was channeling someone called Aria.  It was all pretty interesting.  I had signed up for a personal healing and I have to say it was really powerful.  The aura healing energized me but this released a bunch of baggage!  How?  I have no idea.

The third thing I'm doing is massage - hey, this healing shit is hard work but someone has to do it...

I've always maintained a philosophy of "whatever works" and this trifecta seems to be giving me some help so I'm going to keep it up and see what happens.  Meanwhile, I'm giving thought to what I''ll be doing next and will probably make that decision in the next couple of weeks. It will definitely involve a warm climate!  An early cold spell here in Colorado cemented my conviction that I don't like Winter!

Meanwhile, on Thursday I had dinner with all three of my sons and my grandkids!  Michael & Jamey and the kids came to town to celebrate Sky's 21st birthday!  And Alexander just got back to town from his archeology job so we are all in the same place at the same time which is a rare and happy event!

Of course I went to the Stampede on Pearl Street...this is held the Friday night before a game and the band...always fun!
