We decided to take a road trip to Chena Hot Springs Resort.  It is only about 60 miles from Fairbanks but the drive is very scenic.  It took us over 2 hours to get there because we kept stopping for photos.  There was so much beauty everywhere you looked and again the colors were spectacular.  We kept looking for wildlife hoping to see our elusive bear, but no such luck with that one.  We did spot a wolf cross the road right in front of us and that was the first time we had seen a wolf.  When we arrived at the Hot Springs we were disappointed in the Resort.  WE were just glad that we were not guests of the facility.  They did have a wonderful Natural Hot Springs that looked very inviting but it did have a sulphur smell to it.  We really wanted to take the tour of the Ice Museum and the next one started at 1pm.  We toured the Resort and did not like it any better. But the Ice Museum was awesome.  The ice sculptures were amazing to see and  and they serve an Appltini from an Ice Bar.  Everything in the room is made of Ice.  Even though we were dissapointed in the Resort we were so glad we came.  The drive and the Museum was worth the trip.  The day was cloudy but no rain and the temp was in the low 40's.  On the way back into Fairbanks we spotted some Bald Eagles soaring over the highway.  What a beautiful sight to see.
