Final Preparations
For months I had been preparing all the different aspects of my departure - researching, arranging places to stay, planning the route, buying many big and small things... - but (predictably) I was still busy fixing things until the very last moment, particularly creating and printing maps, packing bags, and attaching said bags as well as some gadgets onto my bike. Finally, I was ready to go. There was an emotional goodbye, and then I was suddenly off on the journey.
