Before breakfast I sat in our peaceful garden, read my Kindle and listened to the birds. A prelude to a scrumptious breakfast in which we had fruit salad, idiappam peas and potato thelepa, yep – curries for breakfast.

At 9.30am we made our way to Munnar and the Munnar tea museum where we ran into the Schweglers again. We did a swop, Matthew for Tahina. With three girls in tow we drove to an Avurydic massage parlor where Armin and all the women had a massages. You will have to read Dianne's blog about their oily head to toe massages. Matthew, Rob and I walked into town, checked out the people, taxis, political slogans, mosque, market and flower stalls.

The communist party of India (Marxist) has a very strong presence in Kerala where it is the official opposition. It’s been a while since I have seen so many Che, Marx, Lenin and Engels images in one day.

Fifteen minutes after we got back to the massage parlor Dianne came out, she was flushed and laughing hysterically. Ten minutes later Tahina, Caitlin and Rahel joined us, also bursting with laughter. Perhaps Dianne’s blog will clue you in on the paper diaper’s they had to wear, the oil and the massage conditions. All I can tell you is that the girls didn’t stop giggling for at least 2 hours.

Lunch, a vegetarian buffet, Mattupetty dam and Echo point were all interesting, but not spectacular. It is impossible for everything to live up to yesterday’s sights.

The day ended with a mind blowing drive up to a viewpoint and a walk through tea plantations to a waterfall. I added to the splendor and hilarity of the occasion by slipping and falling flat on my butt,  while crossing the stream above the waterfall. No danger, just bruised dignity and some soaked Rupees. An Indian women came rushing to my rescue, she must have weighed as much as my wet shorts. After rescuing me she insisted on posing in pictures with us.

My shorts were unwearable and I had no spare pants, so I had to wear Matthew’s shorts. Fortunately he had two pairs, just one problem, Matthew’s waist is 32 inches and mine is 36. Sorry no photographs available (this isn’t that type of blog).
