Bit of a trip or a make up as i went along to get to Melaka but well worth it. I left Taman Negara on a boat heading down river so really enjoyed that as got to see a bunch of wildlife stuff and scenary along the way, hoped on a mini bus then for a short spin to a place called Jerantut.. now i was half thinking of spending a day and nite here but the place is kind of dead so i sorted out a nite train heading for Tampin near melaka... grand.. but i still had 8 boreing poxy hours to kill in jerantut. i met an english guy and a couple of german girls and we went for a beer but no where sold booze so had to settle for a mango juice instead. My train left at midnight and got meself a sleeper bunk which was cool.. the sleeper bunks here seem a lot better than the european ones ive been on and got into Tampin at 6 ish in the moring still pitch dark... so i waited a little while for it to get bright as the train station was in middle of nowhere and road had no street lights..(country lane kinda thing) and then got a bus to Melaka.. I headed for the Travellers lodge and the sun was beaming down which was a welcome sight after been in the mountains for the last week... well proper heat again.. The hostel here was pretty cool and Melaka is a really nice town. I took in all the sites and some of the museums.. its got a mix of portuguese, dutch, british, chinese and Indian influences in buildings and cultures. I also made it to the cinema and went to see... a nite at the museum which was okay and was kinda interesting watching it with both malay and chinese subtitles. Following day i did some more sight seeing stuff in Melaka ..some dam fine food here too... and made my way then to the bus station late that evening to catch a bus back to KL to go watch the Malaysian Badminton open.
