Rite, so xmas was done and next on the list was the island of Lombok.. or one or two bits of it rather... Anyway took off early from Bali and a 2 hour bus ride up the coast to a harbour town called Padangbai, from here it was a slow ass ferry for 5 hours over to Lembar on Lombok. Now five hours on this is a scourge cos u can literally see from Bali to Lombok so it cant be that far. The ferry was boring and even worse than an irish ferries journey between pembroke and rosslare, so i sat up on the deck and did get to see a school of dolphins jumping along beside the boat. Anyway once i hit Lembar i took another bus an hour north to a town called Senggigi. I just stayed a nite and a day in Senggigi but it was really nice, pretty quiet and a crackin beach with volcanic sand, water here was crystal clean. I spent the evening chatting with some locals i met in a restaurant and went to the tropicana bar to see some cover band who were awful but was still entertaining.
