We were freed, rather sadly, so off we went to The Australian Museum, Telstra Stadium and spent time with friends. We had visited some school friends of mine the night before and they had really treated us to a wonderful BBQ on their balcony. I had not seen these guys for nearly 10 years and it was good to catch up and find them doing so well. Thankyou Jemma and Rich.

We felt for our Karen and Thomas still stuck in the car market. Most backpackers are tight-wads and don't know a good deal when they see one and think they can get a car for free! Get a push bike was Paul's answer.

We were able to go to the Domain in the Botanical Gardens and watch a live T.V broadcast -Carols in the Park. Leo Sayer sang 'I'm dreaming of a White Christmas', he is dreaming as that's definitely not going to happen when the average temperature is 25 degrees plus! By chance Paul, myself, Roel and Renate bumped in to Karen and Thomas amidst 80,000 people. It was a good time and the atmosphere was very magical. This was created by each person having a candle in a red candle holder which made the whole place, along with 80,000 people have a red glow! We met Roel and Renate way back in Port Augusta and we knew we would meet up with us both having to sell our cars. We both got good deals and enjoyed cooking for each other and having a laugh. 'Lovely' people who will will definitely see again in new Zealand.
