One of the lovely things about Victoria is the constant traffic of sea planes flying into the Harbour, for me it just added something magical. We really appreciate our host Shelly for taking such good care of us, we had a wonderful couple of days
(despite Marcelo deleting all of our pictures....me nearly having a hernia...and him recovering the lot. MY HERO!)
Victoria brought me right back to Bangor in many ways. The coast line is so very similar, with the exception of the amazing views of the Washington Mountains on the other side of the Salish Sea. Marcelo and I enjoyed scrambling over the rocks and exploring the city. Victoria is full of Colonial history which is immediately apparent from the imposing Parliament Buildings, and Indigenous heritage, each building of importance seems to have at least 2 totem poles near by. It is nice to see that new totems are being created to adorn the new structures within Victoria, as well as the old totems being preserved. The Lieutenant Governor of B.C. was Steven Point until this month who is of Native descent. In one of my pictures you can see a Canoe which he himself carved and presented to the people.
