Saturday 30th August

Summer seems to have arrived in England today! The only other nice weather they have had all summer was the first week of the school holidays in late July.
It has rained a lot and has been dull and overcast ever since, apparently.

My parent's neighbours have confirmed the offer of their car for us to use while we are here and so we had to sort out the insurance - well actually they put us on their insurance so we didn't have to do anything except pay the money to have our names added.  This will change our trip considerably as we will be able to travel further a field more easily and it will give us some independence.

We were expecting Nadine and Jonah for lunch so we were ordered to go off and get some bits from the local butchers. We all cycled down to Woodhatch which is a mile or 2 down the road and bought sausages and mince. It was a beautiful hot day and we really enjoyed being out and about.

Nadine arrived at about 11am and we chatted in the Garden while the kids played.

After a lovely BBQ lunch we took the kids to Priory Park where they have built a new play park which is really imaginative, with sand and water etc.

We spent a couple of hours there and Zach and Jonah had a ball! Holly also enjoyed herself on the flying fox, although some of the other stuff was a bit young for her.  It was packed because the weather was so good and I suppose it must have been a huge relief for everyone after such a horrid summer!

The neighbours came round for a drink in the early evening sunshine which was nice as we are really indebted to them for the use of their car.

Jonah and Nadine went home and we had a quiet evening.
