Monday 25th August

Our last day in North America!

We got up at 6.30 and had a quick breakfast, showers etc and we were driving out of the RV Park by 8.30.  We had arranged to meet the daughter of the new owner at 10 am in Richmond. This was going to be about half an hour's drive from Burnaby and of course we were doing it in the rush hour!

We managed to get there by 9 am and we found a really good empty car park to park the camper. We walked over to the HSBC bank in the Aberdeen Mall where we had agreed to meet. We decided that this would be a good place because we could bank the money at our branch right there and we could sort out the insurance and registration paperwork there too. Smart eh?!

Everything went really well and by about 10.45 we had sold the van and we were ready to leave for the airport. We showed the new owners around the van and Steve drove it out to the airport which was about 5 minutes drive.

It was a bit strange saying goodbye to" Indy "after 4 months of living in her! We watched as they drove her away, bikes still attached to the back!  I think Steve had a tear in his eye - I know I did!

We both said that although it was sad, it was time to move forward to new adventures; the immediate one being our trip to the UK.

We tried to check in straight away so that we could get rid of the bags but we were told to come back at 1 pm when there would be less of a queue.

We then went off in search of food as we were getting quite hungry by this time. We had a slap-up lunch of burgers and fries before finally checking in about 1pm.
Amazingly we managed to have 4 bags within the required weight although we did have to do some re-distributing of stuff from one bag to another.

We had about a three and a half hour wait before taking off at 5.35 pm so we did the usual wandering around the duty free, looking at the planes and watching the world go by.

We took off on time and settled in for a night of far too much in-flight TV and not enough sleep. Oh to travel first class!
