Monday 30th June

We decided we needed a day off from driving so we booked in for another night.  We had to move sites though but we didn't mind that. Once we had moved and re-settled ourselves we took the kids down to the lake for a swim. The weather wasn't that great so we didn't stay in for too long.  The lake is green which is due to Glacial water. Once again we found the State beach system a little too controlled for our liking (they have lifeguards sitting in mini towers with megaphones watching your every move - ready to point you out to everyone else if you errr just a little). We tried not to burp or laugh too loud otherwise we may have got into trouble.

Oh and the other main thing that happened today was that we lost Zach.  Zach didn't think he was lost of course but we spent ages looking for him.  He does have a habit of riding around campsites just to explore which is fine and he usually reappears pretty quickly.  I always have it in the back of my mind that we are surrounded by strangers and I don't really know where he has gone- especially if we have just arrived somewhere and I haven't had a chance to look around and sus things out. Anyway he scared us by not coming back so we called the ranger who arrived at the same time as Zach reappeared. This all had taken about 40 mins. Zach had followed some kids on their bikes and was perfectly safe in the park but was a long way from where he should have been.  It was a good lesson for him as the ranger had to write a little report so we used that to show him the seriousness of wandering too far away.  He had a cry and so I think he finally understood that it wasn't just silly Mum and Dad nagging him all the time!

Nothing else too dramatic happened today thank god. It rained again which quietened all the campers down after dark.
