This morning we breakfasted in the Hotel and then headed out to find a supermarket. We discovered the "Real Canadian Superstore" a huge place which we all found interesting (if a Supermarket can ever we interesting). The variety, quantity and different foods than we are used to were an eye opener. After paying what seemed like a fortune for the groceries we discovered that we had been charged $24 for 50 teabags! luckily before we left the store. We were able to recover our money from a helpful "customer service" desk.
We then went looking for a decent map of Vancouver and the area. This was hard enough in itself as the people we asked didn't seem to know where we could get one. We finally discovered a great mall and a book shop where we bought a lifesaving map
We took the groceries back to the Hotel and arranged to see another RV in North Delta (northern Vancouver). This RV was older (1988) and Caroline just didn't like it but just up the road we could see another suitable looking RV with a "For Sale" sign which we decided to investigate.
We knocked at the door and a lovely older chap showed us around his much loved RV. It was very well appointed, very low km for the age, with new tyres and all the equipment we needed AND he was asking a realistic price for it. The only downfall was its age - 1988. We were now reaching the confusion stage of purchasing something like this - what should we do? What were we prepared to compromise, what did we need, what would suit us best?
We headed back to the Hotel for dinner and a big discussion. On the way back we stopped and watched a school aged game of Baseball and we discovered an Ice Rink where we watched a Ice Hockey game and some young kids training.
We decided we needed a reliable vehicle with good resale prospects at a good price
We decided that the best vehicle for us was the second one we saw in North Vancouver. So we rang Zlatka (the owner) and arranged to see it tomorrow morning. We told her that we intended to make an offer on it.
We transferred money into our Canadian bank so we could pay for the vehicle.
