Getting outside of Manila was great and it seemed like being in a different country in Davao.  It's a small college town on the water with an island right off the shore called Samal, which is where a couple of my Dad's friends live.  There are barely any foreigners there so when they saw a young Western dude with curly hair just walking around many, especially the women, were taken aback.  Seriously if you're a guy it's like being a God in some far away world; all I had to do was wink at a group of girls, who were obviously staring at me and talking about me, and the loudest uproar of girly screams and giggles would occur.  Like I said Davao is a college town so I went out alone at night and met a lot of people and had a great time every night.  If you're a bachelor Davao is the place to go, the women are beautiful; however I have a girlfriend so I dutifully went home alone at the end of the night, although sometimes the end of the night was 4, 5, or 6 in the morning.  We got into some karaoke a couple of nights and had a good old time singing the night away.

We also went on a really cool tour of Samal island with one of my Dad's friends.  We went to some indigenous villages native to the island, saw the biggest population of fruit bats in the world (over 2 million), saw a snake show with cobras, and just hung out with local people on the island who offered us food and the women once again were wondering if I was for sale, haha.  We also went to a nice resort/ spa/ animal sanctuary type thing that made for a relaxing day.

Well now I'm back in Chiang Mai and I started teaching again three weeks ago.  It was great to see my kids again.  Still diggin' life over here and just trying to experience as much as I can before I come back for good, if I do.  Although I got bit by a spider, I think, in my sleep in my armpit.  Long story short I was in quite a bit of pain, teaching through it, and it got infected and I had to go back to the hospital because of an insect bite.  This time however the infection wasn't pussing out of my skin, rather it was sitting in golf ball size sack under my skin.  So they had to shave half my armpit, give me a local anesthetic, and cut me open to squeeze out the infection.  The worst part about it was the half shaved armpit, which wasn't just a blow to my self esteem, it itched like crazy.  So I feel very badly for women around the world, outside of Europe, who have to shave their pits, sorry it sucks I know.

I'm coming back home sometime in early March after the term ends for a month and hopefully I'm bringing Mon, my girlfriend, with me as long as she can get a visa.  I'll be in the Spokane and Seattle area for sure and I'm not sure where else, so hopefully I'll see you.  Then in April my Dad's taking me to Africa for my graduation from college present, although that was a hot minute ago.  We're going to Egypt for 5 or 6 days and then to Kenya and Tanzania for 2 weeks for a sweet safari.  After that I'm coming back to Spokane and then going back to Thailand in the beginning of May to start the next year of teaching.  I've been looking for a house with Mon recently so if anyone makes it over here I'll probably have a sweet house you can stay at for free.  You can rent nice houses here for like 150 bucks a month.  Also I have a phone here so if you're bored give me a shout, it would be nice to say hi, the number is; 066 8 66 599 575.  I hope you're all doing great back home or wherever you are and I miss you all a lot and can't wait to see ya'll again and have a freakin' fantastic time.  Let me know what you're up to, what you've been doing, or how life's been.  Well take 'er easy dudes and good night.

Ps. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year just in case I don't catch you beforehand.
