HELLO!
This will be a quick update since I have only 5 minutes to write and check email. We drove by Jeepney for about 2 hours and stayed at an American man's home for 2 nights. We went to a Pahiyas (Rice) Festival in Lucban, Laguna Province yesterday and hiked a mountain today. Sadly, one of our most out-going and excited travelers lost his passport and airplane tickets today on the hike! We're not sure what's going to happen, but hopefully all will be okay.
My luggage finally arrived and I was able to pick it up from the airport about an hour before we left for our cross country trip.
We came back to Manila about 30min ago and took 2 minute showers and are taking a 10 hour, overnight bus ride up north to the rice terraces.
The food and people have been good! I can't believe it's only the 4th day. It feels like we've been here for weeks! The group gets along well and we are all looking forward to new adventures!
Cheers and mabuhay for now!
Amanda :)

YeaHooray for the luggage ! I knew you'd work it out. This is terrific experience, especially with the complications. I like the limericks. We're really proud of you. Hope your research is productive and exciting, too.

NOAA... Philippine's style
I was curious about typhoons and Philippine weather... found this neat link to PAGASA...
http://www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/

So...

Amanda's weather forecast for May 18...

'Northern and Central Luzon and Palawan will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon with moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the east and southwest with slight to moderate seas.'

On a positive note, there's no sign of any tropical cyclones!

My pleasure, Mr Williams
Since Amanda mentioned a typhoon, and not knowing much about typhoon season, or Philippine weather in general, it seemed like the thing to do. 8^)
