This morning we had a late start as we slept in for a change.  We drove into Ventura for a spot of shopping and to look around.

Mercina had a very successful shopping day and Mike and I bought socks.

It was a very hot day in Ventura.  We ate lunch at a typical 1950's diner complete with little jukeboxes at the tables and signs saying "Please do not dance on the tables".

After lunch we carried on to Santa Barbara.  This is obviously a very wealthy town judging by all the beautiful people and expensive shops we saw.  We started to look in shops but the price tags were enough to tell us we didn't belong.  It was too hot to do much else so we decided to press on to Pismo Beach.

Along the way we also stopped in Santa Maria in the hope we could find a souvenir with Santa Maria on it.  Despite the fact that I know you can buy Levin souvenirs in Levin, it was impossible to find a shop selling Santa Maria souvenirs in Santa Maria!  Never mind, Mike and Mercina got souvenirs of their own - boots.  Another Boot Barn with 10,000 pairs of boots and none I liked.

We finally arrived in Pismo Beach at 6pm only to find it full.  We are staying at the Pismo Coast Village (www.pismocoastvillage.com) which had just one space left.  They must have n
known we were coming.  Had a lovely dinner at the PCV Grill and now relaxing in the RV and making plans to hit the beach tomorrow.
