Where I stayed
Eventually on day one around 1030am we finally were all boarded in the boat to set off, an hour or so in the boat we arrived at a gorgeous island to snorkel and have lunch. Unfortunately the tide was too high so there was no snorkelling till after lunch.
We lazed around on the beach while the guys cooked up lunch on the boat, we had a 27kg Kingfish which had texture more like chicken for lunch, I'm not a huge fish fan but it went down well with everyone. The snorkelling wasn't too great the visability was bad due to the wind so it was a bit disappointing.
At 2.30 we set off back to the mainland as no-one is allowed to stay on the island, we arrived in time for sunset and a quick swim in the pool before a nice BBQ dinner of langoustine, Kalahari, and chicken it was really tasty, my fish training is going well haha
There was talk of the tour not being possible the next day as the wind was picking up and sure enough the next morning we woke to grey skies and wind - gutted wasn't the word. If the weather was bad we were supposed to go on a speedboat but this never materialised so we all just sat around till our pick up took us back to hostel to sit around there for the afternoon,it was Sunday and everything was closed. This was so disappointing as this was the main part of the trip and what we paid extra for, the group was very disgruntled to say the least.
Marc did however help out the locals pulling in the fishing nets, they put them out each afternoon and then it takes over 4 hours to pull them back in, men and women twist the sticks to the rope to pull in - it was tough going and took ages they got in a fair few fish and gave some to one of our group Martin who had helped them for the whole 4 hours.
