So we had planned to come down to Patagonia region to go to El Calafate but we recently found out that Marc's favourite DJ is playing in Ushuaia which is even more further south - but we figured this was an oppertunity not to be missed so we had put aside money for a flight down there but it will be some serious bus time on the way back up !!

The bumpiest flight!
Our flight was at 0445am so it was little sleep for us, we got a taxi to the airport in BA so it wasnt too bad and the flight was full but on time.  3 hours n 45 mins later and coming into land we hit some of the worst turbulence I have ever felt - not only was the place bouncing up and down but seeing as we were sitting on the wing when looking out the plane was swinging left and right all over the place - i am not at all a nervous flyer but I tell you I was bricking it !!!!!!  The views coming into land were amazing just mountains everywhere and when we did eventually land safely thankfully the airport was lovely all made of wood and like a giant cosy log cabin haha.

The most southern city in the world
In the past, the town has been used for the Argentine navy. Its now a major tourist town, complete with casinos and nice restaurants and as a base for hiking, winter sports and cruises to Antartica.  The place is beautiful its got a lovely feel to it with its fantastic views and quaint little churches that have the craziest bell ringing noises.

We would have loved to go to Antartica its Marc's dream, we already knew how much it cost but if you had some spare cash the last minute deals here are excellent - we have seen signs for a 10 day cruise for 2500 each - which is ridiculously cheap aparently!

Clothes Shopping...where's Primark when you need it!!
So seeing as the temperatures here are around 5-12C and much less at night we had to go hunting for clothes in Buenos Aires which proved to be an utter mission as its summertime up there and we just wanted a jacket and a pair of long trousers!   All the outdoor shops had the proper gear but it was ridiculously expensive we just wanted something for the 10 days we would be down south we werent hiking just being cold haha.  We managed to find 2 super non sexy jackets in a sale and Marc found a pair of combats but there was absolutely nothing for me it was all jeans and they were both too heavy for my wee backpack and no good if they got wet in the cold.  So we spent the afternoon in Ushuaia with me in my 3/4 length thin as fook trousers and my geek shoes with socks looking for some trousers haha - eventually found some shitty black tracksuit type things cause again we werent spending stupid money on the proper trekking ones!!!

Its quite funny cause all the shops are "outdoor" shops and people only really come here to go hiking and trekking in the mountains so everyone is dressed appropriately and there is us two....never climbed a hill in our life and only here to party haha !
