Today, my Uncles Charlie and Jimmy, Mel and I headed for Malta's sister island Gozo for the day.  We just missed the ferry and had to wait 20 minutes for the next one.  As we waited we could see a beautiful blue pattern in the water next to the coast.  It doesn't matter how many times I see this crystal blue water it always amazes me.

It didn't take long to get to Gozo and once we were off the ferry we headed to our first destination the Cittadella which is an old fort city in the middle of Gozo.  It dates back to medieval times and it's amazing to think how they would have built such a city all those years ago.

From there we went to lunch in a seaside town called Marsalforn.  I had a pizza and tried a local beer both very nice.

We then headed to Dwejra Bay to check out the Azure Window.  I had been here last time I came to Malta, but this time there were very strong winds so the sea was rough and was hitting the rocks hard.  It was so cool.  There were obviously no boats out so there were a lot people around the sight.

Before we left the island we stopped at a famous church called Lady of Ta Pinu.  The church was built after someone said they saw the Madonna appear there and told them to build the church.  Many people come to this church to pray for a miracle and those who have received a miracle send in a thank you note with their story or artifact of their personal ordeal and they hang all these stories and messages up on the wall.

Gozo is an interesting island, a little quiet, but still worth a visit whenever you come to Malta.
