Today I really did a whole lot of nothing. If I did do something it was not fun enough for me to remember.

Since today was Penecost, we had the day off from school. I slept in, then got up and around and met up with Rachel and Josh for some coffee. Turns out we didn't get coffee, instead Josh and I got this crazy focaccia ice cream sandwich. They put ice cream in a sweet roll kind of thing, and then heat it up for a bit, so you have a nice hot/cold sandwich. It was really good. After that we met up with Steph and played catch. I had bought a normal sized nerf football so we played with that. It was really funny. Everyone who passed by us was looking at us as if we were crazy. Oh well. It was pretty fun, even though all of us pretty much stunk. Phillipe joined us later and then we went to a café for a drink. It was a nice relaxing day off.

Back to school today. My kids were awful as usual, but we actually learned some things today. I had my oldest students today. My tutor came again today to evaluate my kids. Why she doesn't tell me about this I have no idea. She was pulling kids out of my classroom to give them oral evaluations. Then after she was done, she came to me and informed me what I wasn't doing right and what I needed to teach them before the year was out. I rolled my eyes at her, and even though she didn't see me, the kids did. They thought it was hilarious. At least now I know what to teach next week. Yay. After school I walked to the centre of Bouguenais and made a hair appointment. Yep, this hair is getting cut off. I've been so afraid of getting a haircut in France, because I know they are going to mess me up, but I'm sick of this hair now. If it's horrible, it'll always grow out right? When I was back in Nantes I met Rachel for some coffee. I ended up getting a Coca Light. I haven't had coke since Christmas at home, so this was a big deal for me :). Rachel got a mint water, which is exactly what it sounds like. It's supposed to be refreshing, but I think it just sounds weird. When I asked her how it was she said "yep, tastes like medicine!!" haha

Got up today and went to my babysitting job. Today was nice. Except that my favorite, Rose Mary, was a total brat today. She's usually so good, but she was just giving me attitude all day. It was awful. I told her mom about it later and she blamed herself. She said she doesn't give Rose Mary enough attention because she's a middle child. Ok.... The kids were really upset at lunch because we didn't have the right ingredients for me to make a tarte. Apparently I'm really good at making tartes. We had to have pasta and they just didn't like that. After lunch I hung out with Cosme and we played with Play-Dough all afternoon. It was so cute. I finally got some pictures of them too, so I'll put them up. I don't have one of the oldest though, Raphaelle. I'll get one later. Then the mom came home and was talking about Raphaelle's communion, which I agreed to go to. Apparently that marks the end of the school year. So I think next week will be my last week with these kid. :( Just when I was getting comfortable with them. After I left there I went to a kid's store and got a magnetic map of France with all the different departments and regions. It'll be great to have in my classroom I think. I also got a kid's book that explains the rules to soccer; it was so cute I couldn't pass it up. I'm still trying to find games that I can bring back with me and use at school. There isn't a huge selection, and the games are SO expensive. Plus I'm not sure how much room I'll have in my suitcase. We'll see.
