Today we took it a bit easy and packed up all our things in the hotel before heading off to breakfast. After eating so many sugary things recently I've been feeling like a lot of fruit and natural yoghurt instead, so had lots of this for my breakfast.

After breakfast we tried to make contact with the travel agent as we found out it would be 8.5 hours each way to Warsaw... So we would spend more time traveling than probably seeing the place, deciding just to stay in Prague for the weekend instead.

We then checked out from the hotel and went to wander around a bit as we weren't being picked up from the hotel until 3pm to go to the train station. We hopped on the first tram we saw outside and wanted to see where it took us. We did see a bit more of Berlin... Which seemed like the ghetto. Eventually we decided to hop off and go back to change trams. After changing we were led to our usual tram and headed to Alexander square to suss that out.

The square was filled with markets and alongside had a large department store. We first looked around the market stalls and ended up buying chocolate covered strawberries on sticks, which turned out to be quite sickening. We wandered about some more and them headed into the department store.

The department store was kind of like Myer and had a huge gourmet shopping centre type thing in it. There was a section with all kinds of sweets so we chose some things for the kids and Baba went to pay as I wandered about a bit more.

We then wandered around a bit and got some ham from the meat stall, bread rolls from the bread stall and 2 beautiful looking cakes from the cake stall. Baba went to get her purse out her bag to find out it was not there. We then searched everywhere and I tried to ask some of the workers but they didn't speak English. I immediately gave Baba her secondary travel card which I was holding on to and she went to the bank to withdraw as much money as possible, pretty much leaving me with a basket full of goods as collateral lol.

I was waiting for a while before Baba returned and said she was only able to withdraw 500 euros. We paid for the shopping and headed back to our hotel because it was about 2pm already.

When we got back to the hotel the man at the reception desk helped Baba by calling the Travelex card company to cancel her cards. After a lot of calling around this was done and there was no money spent from the account since Baba withdrew money. While Baba did this I snacked on the plate of christmas cookies at the service desk... They were so good! Lol. Soon after the man came to pick us up and take us to the train station.

When we got to the train station we had over an hour to spare so we wandered about and I stupidly decided I should have a sausage while I was in Germany. I got a Bratwurst sausage, chips and a drink and it all was a bit eh and I felt so sick afterwards. Afterwards I headed to the toilet which was all automatic and called a "wash centre" where you had to pay in a machine, the gate opened and it gave you a half price toilet voucher for next time lol. 1 euro for the toilet visit though! Bit more pricey than Prague.

By this time we had about 20 minutes before our train was due to leave so we quickly went looking for a magazine in English for Baba to read. Seeing my usual magazines but in German made me a little sad and miss them even though I usually only read a few articles and looked at the pictures :p. Missing not being able to read English writing though!

Soon after it was time to board our train and again we had to shuffle people around as we had reserved seats. There were 5 of us in the compartment, Baba and I had to hold our suitcase on the floor between our knees and the lady in the corner was complaining about the air coming out of the vents and it was cold even on warm. It was so stuffy and I said they are automatically on, then she said shed find a way to get it turned off. I said it was nice and because we were packed in we needed it. The lady seemed to give up after that.

The other people got off in Dresden so Baba and I stretched out. When people walked past our compartment I would cough really loudly or we would pretend to sleep over the seats so noone would come to sit with us lol. It worked! :)

I ended up just laying about and making the most of having Internet back as we were in the Czech Republic again soon after. I wasn't even hungry but decided to eat the cakes Baba bought for me. They certainly looked good but tasted pretty average. I decided then that Prague has the best cakes! :)

When we got back to Prague it was about 10pm. We got a taxi back to the flat and the driver was very nice, chatting to Baba non stop in Czech, but I was holding on for dear life as he sped through the dark, bumpy, squeezy Prague streets.

When we got back to the flat it was good to be back and I actually missed Prague a bit while we were gone. I say around for a while and completely forgot we got back at about 10:30pm, so found myself only going to bed at 1am... Which is late for me here as we get up at about 6am every morning by habit.
