This morning I didn't completely wake up at 3:30am! I was tossing and turning a bit and when I was half asleep at 5:30am still trying to fall back to sleep, Baba came to the edge of my bed and started having some huge conversation to me about how we should wash our clothes. I said we'd sort it out later but she kept going... Sure enough after she left I was wide awake. Yay... Lol maybe tomorrow morning I will finally get a decent sleep in.

For breakfast I was nibbling on all my treats from Saint Nicholas, or as they call him here "Saint Mickolash". Baba was telling me about how it was traditionally walnuts and apples in a bag, but nowadays there are lots of little chocolates added.

We went out towards Wenceslas square where we first wandered around the museum area and Baba told me about different bits in history, where 2 men lit themselves on fire protesting in 1969, about old king Wenceslas and about how things were along one of the straight roads when she was younger and lived here - when there were tanks filling the street and the sound of gun shots.

We wandered through and went to get some morning tea, we went to a deli type bakery where baba had some more open sandwiches which she is obsessed with lol and I had a ham and cheese toasted panini. Afterwards we went and got gingerbread cookie lattes from a coffee shop, I managed to get soy milk in mine and it was pretty yummy! :)

Afterwards we wandered down a street filled with different stalls, where we bought some souvenir bits and pieces. We then took a tram heading to Petrin which was a big tower that looked somewhat like the eiffel tower, it was a look out over the whole city.

To get up to the hill where the tower was we had to take a team up. When we got to the tower we realized as a senior Baba got free entry to the lift to get to the top of the tower, I said I'd be okay and take the stairs instead... Let's just say by the first floor (which was a third of the way) I was gasping for air and felt like I was going to throw up over the edge lol. I was pretty much running up the stairs before that though as I wanted to beat Baba to the top. Bad idea haha. When I finally got to the top with many sips of my water, Baba was there telling me she was about to come looking for me. At the top of the tower there was a lovely view of the whole of Prague, I managed to get some nice photos too. We both took the stairs down but it was really easy for me after how hard it was to get up lol.

After we headed down the tower we wanted to head towards Prague castle, so I was telling Baba to follow me as I thought I had some idea about where to go. We walked along some paths zig zagging down the hill. Soon enough the cement path turned into dirt... Oops :p. we ended up trekking through what seemed like a forest with thin paths and muddy paths covered in autumn leaves. It was a bit of an interesting experience. On the way Baba was collecting chestnuts we found that dropped from trees, to show me. We didn't take them though as they were a bit dirty :p.

When we finally found our way out, a couple asked us how to get to the tower, I told them to go back the way we came but make sure they were careful with good shoes... Baba laughed at me for leading others through that way.

We walked around and soon came across some very thin hilly streets, Baba said it was somewhere she had never been before and was thankful for my random journey I had taken her on. Above each of the houses was some sort of picture, Baba said that in past times there were no house numbers, instead there where the pictures and names - such as black eagle, golden scales, brown horse.

We saw a few souvenir stores and I found a good priced mole from the Czech children's fairy take book yesterday. I thought it'd be good to have the character with the book.

By this time it was starting to get dark (about 4:20pm), so we decided to see Prague castle another day and got a tram to take us back to the city. We then took the underground metro to closing to where we were staying. On the way out they were selling wintery waterproof jackets for about $40 australian. I got one which was a bit bog for me but I'm sure I'll appreciate it if it starts to snow! So if you see me in a giant jacket in photos, you know what I'm talking about.

Just outside the metro station was a big department store. We did a little bit of shopping in the supermarket where we got two bottles of wine ($3.50 each for French wine!), got some shower gel etc and some beer shampoo and conditioner (apparently it is good for volumising). We also got some pork chops which I said I could make us for dinner with salad.

We then went to find a bus to take us back to the flat, we had to ask directions from a few people and were led to a bus, so we got on that. On the bus there was a youngish English speaking man who questioned us about where we wanted to go and told us that was where he had to go. I started to get a bit scared he might be some creep but Baba was trusting him. Sure enough the bus did lead us close by to where we needed to be and we walked the rest of the way to the flat, the guy apparently lived on the same street but on the other side. We didn't get attacked though! Phew!

When we got to the flat it was so nice to take our shoes off after walking so so so much!! I feel like I could eat a few kilos of chocolate and not gain weight :p

I cooked Baba and I dinner and mentioned just before serving that it was my first time cooking pork chops and probably third time eating them in the last 10 years or so lol. Baba's face looked so scared as she was trusting me with her dinner haha. They turned out pretty good though and she said a few times they were really nice which was good.

Now I am laying on my bed so exhausted! I feel so full from dinner too that I don't think I can move! :p

It was a good day trekking around overall though :).
