UP EARLY AGAIN TO RUN TO OSPREY MARINA(THE CHEAPEST FUEL)DIESEL IS RUNNING ANYWHERE FROM $3.00 GAL.-$1.99 SO YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH TO FIND THE CHEAPER PLACES .WE ARE ALSO FINDING THIS YEAR DOCK AGE IS LESS THAN BEFORE.$1.00 A FT TO $1.35 AND IF YOU STAY A WEEK TO A MONTH IT DROPS TO $.25 A FT.WE HAVE ALWAYS SAID THE EAST COAST IS SO DIFFERENT THAN THE WEST COAST AND EAST COAST OF FLORIDA THE MARINAS ARE TRULY GEARED TOWARDS THE BOATER.WELCOME PACKAGES WITH CRACKERS,WINE,CHEESE---ARRANGEMENTS WITH RESTAURANTS TO PICK YOU UP AND BRING YOU BACK TO YOUR BOAT---BBQ PLATES WITH DOCK AGE--ALWAYS TWO TO THREE DOCK HANDS TO HELP WITH YOUR LINES THEY ARE ALL GREAT.AS WE DOCKED WE NOTICED THE WATER MOVING WE ARE THINKING GATOR BUT INSTEAD WE WERE GREETED BY SEVERAL TURTLES THAT REALLY INTERESTED MR. DACH.THE TURTLES WOULD SWIM RIGHT UP TO THE SWIM PLATFORM AND STICK THEIR NOSE UP AND MR. DACH WOULD PUT HIS NOSE DOWN AND I WAS AFRAID THEY WOULD SNAP BUT ALL THEY WANTED WAS A CRACKER.SO WE FED THEM AND THAT MADE THEM HAPPY.WE ENCOUNTERED  SEVERAL SHRIMP BOATS SOME RETURNING WITH LOTS OF SHRIMP,OTHERS JUST GOING OUT ON THEIR RUN LEAVING THEIR FAMILIES FOR DAYS IN HOPES TO FIND THE GOOD CATCH.BEING ON THE ICW AND ALL THE TOWNS SO CLOSE TO THE OCEAN FRESH SEAFOOD IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE.THERE ARE SOME SEAFOOD WHOLESALE-RETAIL THAT HAVE DOCKS WHERE YOU JUST STOP,TIE UP AND WALK RIGHT UP TO THE CONVEYOR BELT AND SELECT YOUR FISH OR SHRIMP.THE WILL EITHER CLEAN AND DRESS IT FOR YOU OR YOU CAN PURCHASE IT CHEAPER AND DO IT YOURSELF.THERE WHERE TWO SPOTS IN OUR TRAVELS WHERE THE GREEN-HEADED FLIES WHERE AWFUL.IN OUR OPEN FLY BRIDGE WE WOULD HAVE 30-40 AT A TIME---SOOOO  THATS WHY YOU HAVE TO CARRY A FLY SWATTER AND ALL THE BOATERS THAT PASS WAVE THEIR SWATTERS AT YOU TO SAY HELLO THEN GO BACK TO SWATTING.THE WACCAMAW RIVER IS ONE OF THE PRETTIEST SPOTS ON THE ICW--CYPRESS TRUNKS WITH WILD FLOWERS,ALLIGATORS AND DOLPHIN IN THE SAME RIVER.WE SPOTTED SEVERAL OSPREY WITH YOUNG AND HAWKS.THE BANKS ARE TREE LINED AND THE SMELL OF HONEYSUCKLE AND JASMINE IN THE AIR.FOR MOTHERS DAY WE STAYED AT THE MYRTLE BEACH YACHT CLUB AGAIN A VERY NICE PLACE.THEN WE HAD TO FACE THE ROCK PILE---A DANGEROUS STRETCH---WITH ROCKS JUTTING OUT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CHANNEL NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR TWO BIG BOATS TO PASS SO YOU ANNOUNCE YOURSELF ON THE RADIO FOR ANY CONCERNED TRAFFIC APPROACHING.AND IT REALLY IS BEST TO PASS DURING LOW TIDE SO YOU CAN VISUALLY SEE THE ROCKS THAT WOULD BE COVERED AT HIGH TIDE.THE WEATHER HAS TURNED COOLER---YEAH----OUR NEXT STOP WILL BE SOUTHPORT,N.C.HAVING A GREAT TIME AND WE ARE DOING WELL AND MR DACH IS STILL HAVING SOME ISSUES BUT HOPE ALL WILL BE OKAY.MISS EVERYONE,WISH YOU ALL COULD BE HERE WITH US.
