Today is a travel day.  We are leaving from Glacier Park Lodge in Montana and traveling into Canada - destination Banff.  We traveled for about 2.5 hours before arriving at Prince of Wales Hotel.  The hotel is amazing built in the early 1900's by the Canadian Pacific Railroad on a piece of land which has the mountains in the background and a glacial lake in it's backyard.  It is a Swiss Style lodge and only open in the Summer.  The views of the area including the lodge are amazing.  We had a nice lunch at the hotel before leaving.  We had a few minutes after lunch to capture some more pictures and were lucky enough to find 4 bears on the neighboring island.  It was a mother and three cubs.

Back on the bus for another 4 hours to Banff.  First we had a quick stop at Cameron Falls for some pictures.  This is a nice waterfall down the street from the Prince of Wales Hotel.  Back on the bus -- we drove for about 2 hours before stopping a the Bar U Ranch.  Here we were able to take a pit stop and capture some pictures.  It was a quick stop before we were back on board to finish the trip to Banff.

This part of the ride was a bit more scenic as we were traveling through the Canadian Rockies.  The weather didn't cooperate at first we had rain and then snow.  There had been plowable snow earlier in the week, but what we drove through was more of snow squalls.  We came upon two more adult beers on our drive, some cows in the road, an Elk, and a deer.  It would have been more amazing if the weather was better.

We arrived in Banff at about 5:45 p.m. and had enough time to get to our room before we were off for a group dinner.  We had dinner with Bill & Kathy Perry from Philadelphia area.  The food and conversation were very nice.
