This was not the best part of the trip by any means. We were warned at Top Said by a camper that had just come from St. George Island that the mosquitoes would carry you away. I was hoping by the time we got there a week later they would be gone......NOT! They were horrible and it rained for the majority of the time we were there. There is no reason I would ever want to come back to this spot. It's on a barrier island but it's far enough away from the beach that you have to drive to get there. This place too, is a tourist trap. It reminds me of the way Nags Head, NC used to be before there were any stores to go shopping in that you have to rent a cottage right on the beach to enjoy the beach. It is really close to Apalachicola so we had really good oysters.
