Yesterday at around 2pm, after an extremely lazy morning, all of us headed just over the border into South Carolina to visit Adam's Aunt Stephanie (Frances's sister) and Uncle Allan. They live on a beautiful ranch style property in the suburb of Rock Hill, which seems to be comprised of beautiful homes and lots of land.

The gathering was large, and it was lovely to finally put faces to some of the names I'd been hearing for the past year. Meeting Adam's cousins Caroline and Peyton was good fun and all of us got along well, hanging out by the pool and generally chatting and laughing.

Adam and I went for a wander around the property, looking at the classic fences, pastures and of course, the three lovely horses owned by the family, Lucky, Chip and Beauty. We stood and watched them for quite some time (and fed them a few carrots!)

The day was lazy and the evening even lazier as we were (again) treated to a wonderful BBQ dinner, eaten outside in the calm summer evening, on the beautiful deck overlooking the pool and land, interrupted only by a brief sighting of a fox and the bats swooping overhead.

Finally after chowing down on cheesecake and singing Stacey a Happy Birthday (no hip hip hoorays though) we headed back up to Charlotte, bellies full. It was a really lovely day.
