The drive from Banff to BC is just gorgeous! We left at 8:40 and drove through Roger's Pass near Golden, BC. The kids just couldn't fathom the mountains until they saw them.  By lunch we made it to Vernon where we met my friend Randy for lunch.  He offered to tour us around his awesome province.

Normally the trip from Banff would have taken about 10 hours I think but Allison wanted to stop and get a picture in Hedley, BC since the band of the same name is one of her favourites. That took us about 2 hours out of the way but hey, we're on vacation! After lunch, I was feeling really tired so Allison drove from Kelowna to Hedley. She has been a real life saver (literally) on this trip! I think I was a bit optimistic about my driving stamina. At Hedley we got the photo and I took over.

By the time we got in to Abbotsford it was around 10:30. It was dark and I was feeling as though we might have to sleep in the car. The campground would surely not be open any more in order for us to get our site. Driving in the dark is not a lot of fun but I didn't want to stop, we were so close.  When we got to the park Allison noticed a sign the posted our site number.  Hurray!  She and I set up camp at 11:00 while Jamie and Melissa slept.  Allison has been a huge help when needed! She's growing up beautifully!

The next day Randy showed up and pitched his tent on our site.  We drove in to town for groceries and had lunch at Fatburger.  The plan was to go to the Capillano suspension bridge but that was going to cost over $100 for me and the girls and that just wasn't in our budget so instead we had a fantastic afternoon at Stanley Park walking along the Seawall.

We finally were able to have a camp fire so it was dogs and smores over the fire for supper.

Day 3 in BC was spent at Granville Island where they had a Kid's market that appealed to Melissa AND the other girls.  They even had kid sized doors to walk through.  Dinner was fresh prawns and steak on the grill.

3 days is not nearly enough on mainland BC!
