Saturday... what a great day... Malin wakes me up with breakfast bright and early and says that we need to get ready to meet up with her friend Linda shortly.  We find Linda and make a bee-line for the liquor store where they get a bunch of beers and ciders and fill up a few coolers with ice at McDonalds.  After lunch at a cute outdoor restaurant on the lake shore we head out on a boat to an island.  Its about noon when we settle in on the island where there are many picnic groups and everyone seems to have a cooler, a beer in hand and a smile on their face!  Summer seems great here!!!  There is a diving board and go for a refreshing swim .

The ciders creep up on me quickly as they are 7% alcohol content and I feel good by the time a group of her guy friends come to the island to pick us up in their boat.  We go for a ride and wind up at the marina... to hit up the bar, go figure!

A few drinks and everyone decides to head home to change, shower, and regroup in a few hours.  Based on the status of everyone around me, I think to myself that I would be shocked if half the people there made it out later that night.  As for me, I'm feeling like there is no way in hell I will make it... we take off and on the five minute walk from the marina to Malin's flat, we get stopped by a few guys on a park bench that know Malin and who, you wouldn't believe it, were drinking beers.  It was at this point that I realized I had become a member of what they call the "A" team, which in some form or another means the alcoholics... A few more drinks and we walk the remaining 2 minutes where I pass out for an early evening nap that I'm sure will be the end of my day.  Oh, how wrong I was...

Malin wakes me up an hour later and says, "Come on, let's go!".  I hop in the shower and we are off.  We hit up the restaurant that is a two minute walk away.  I have an amazing dish of smoked salmon and traditional potatoes and we join some of her friends at the table next to us for a few drinks.  At this point, Malin takes it upon herself to start introducing me to some of her single girl friends and proceeds to start advertising me as a green card opportunity!  She is absolutely hilarious and everyone loves her in this town...

It isn't long before she introduces me to a group of three girls who are my age and just finishing up university in West Palm Springs where they had been recruited to play soccer... they are unbelievably nice, seem to hang on Malin's every word (despite the slurred nature of them at this point) and each one is more beautiful than the next.  I can't complain and we have a great conversation as well as a few more drinks... see the trend?

We all head over to a rooftop bar/club and dance a bit before heading back to Malin's boyfriend's apartment.  It is at her boyfriend's place that I run back into the guys from the boat and marina that are ALL THERE!!! They are even drunker than earlier in the day but seem to be completely with it at the same time.  I'm absolutely amazed, but we all hop in a van taxi (first time I've gotten into a car since getting to Vasteras) and go to the "after-party".  I don't know what to expect, so I'm a bit curious when we get into an apartment building where I hear no noise and see no people.  After a short knock, the apartment door opens up and we are immediately sucked into this apartment that has been transformed into a club of sorts for the early morning party!

The house music was low but that didn't stop people from dancing and I was served a home-cooked vodka that was not what I needed at that point in the night.  We all walked back to Malin's place and made it to bed sometime before we had to be up to grab a train into Stockholm for the Sweden - Ukraine friendly soccer match the "next" day.
