Our first stop, as we wait for her sister to get in, is dinner at a conveyor belt sushi place and I love it. We make a pit stop at a pachinko parlor which is like the slots in vegas. It takes all of two minutes to see the madness that is asian gambling and I am baffled as to how there are so many of these parlors littered across the city, and full, because they are more like carnival games than casino slots. I actually saw a line in front of one of them later in my Tokyo stay.
Christine gets in and we head out to a second dinner at the only place that is open that late... a hole in the wall sushi place where Cory and his gang are chilling at the only table, a tatami mat style room that has just enough room for the three of us to sit down.
I immediately join them and they dub me Matsuri-man (party man) after Christine asks Diane "how do you say party, man?" We proceed to have a wild and crazy night as they take us to other local bars that we wouldn't have found let alone been let in on our own. Christine gets betrothed to Cory and everyone has fun trying to communicate while drinking. The night ends late and with my Japanese vocab a lot better than it was hours before, but still not good.
