Downtown Sydney isn't too amazing until you hit the water's edge, at which point you realize how awesome it is. Everyone is neatly dressed and seem to be headed in one direction or the other but not in such a hurry as you would see in New York. I check out the Opera house, for the first time, and my first impression is that it isn't as overwhelming as I had imagined. I head back to Bondi to meet up with Phin in the late afternoon. Seeing Phin walk in a room with the bunkbed brought me right back to Brant Lake Camp 12 years ago!
We go out in Bondi to a nice restaurant and find ourselves at the swanky bar downstairs catching up on lost time before getting harassed by a family of Irish folk that had obviously downed a few too many. We humor them for a bit before heading to the Bondi Hotel which is apparently a staple for locals, but seems somewhat of a college bar to me. The night was fun but we had a big day ahead of us so it didn't get out of control.
Side note: my camera was stolen/misplaced/lost while in Sydney so my pictures are sparse and mostly borrowed from the people I was with at the time. It should also be noted that a few very good pictures have been lost in this tragic incident...
