After a solid breakfast at the hotel, we are picked up and whisked away to our safari! We sleep basically the entire ride out (almost 6 hours) but are kept awake for the last hour or so after picking up a swiss guy named Richard.  He's absolutely hilarious (laughs after EVERYTHING he says) and his English is priceless.  He's an ice cream maker ("I production the ice cream") who's spent the past 2 months learning English in Cape Town. We arrive at the camp in time for a beautiful sunset game drive.  It's quite disappointing but we do run into 5 or 6 lions.

Back at the camp we find our TREEHOUSE to be very rustic and exactly what I had hoped for!  (Marc's Tree House Lodge, www.marcsamp.com)  Our bathroom is on the ground and basically outside, not that our tree house is too well insulated or anything though.  Mosquito nets are a must as the 'walls' are bamboo and there is nothing stopping bugs from coming into our house.  The balcony overlooks a beautiful stream although the grass is too tall to see much wildlife around the stream.

Dinner is awesome as we all sit around the table and enjoy soup and traditional bush cooking.  The 2 canadian ladies (Kim and Melissa?)are really nice, the older Canadian guy (Mr. John) is a bit odd but nice all the same, and Richard is priceless in his non-stop entertainment!!  We make a campfire after dinner and sit around watching stars for a bit before heading to bed.

The people are interesting, the lodge is rustic and one of a kind, the food was unreal and we are in the middle of nowhere!  Everything is just as I had imagined it and I am so far removed from the real world that I momentarily completely forget about my fans (you guys) back home.   I fall asleep in the bug net to the sounds of the wild!
