Now that I have done my best to say farewell to as many friends as possible, it is time to shift my focus towards family.  Lucky for me, my father's parents (Lee and Herb Levine) celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary tonight.  Our family held a dinner party at the Nassau Inn in downtown Princeton.  I got an overdue haircut, actually shaved and got dressed up for what could be the last time in a while. Everyone in the nucleus of our family was in attendance, and while it was a great opportunity to say adieu to everyone, the focus of the night was our beautiful honorees!

Throughout dinner we heard stories of how the two met, got married at such a young age, were more mischievous than we had previously thought, and made it through 65 years still going strong.  We each took turns sharing thanks, memories, and various forms of admiration. Mine took the form of an awfully corny poem that I wrote and recited with my sisters.  Don't think the actual poem will make it up here, but hopefully it will suffice to say that it was so cheesy that it was really cute... or at least I'll keep telling myself that for now.  The mayor of Princeton actually declared January 4th official Leanore and Herbert Levine Appreciation Day!

Looking at a couple that has been happily married since their early 20's, I began to think about what I'm looking to get out of my time on the road at 25.  Without getting too emotional on yall before I even take off, I'll just say that we should all be so lucky to find a love like theirs!  Congratulations to them and I'm looking forward to celebrating the 70th in just a few short years.

I will be radio silent for the next few days as I pack and prepare to embark on my adventure... Please give me a shout before the 12th if you'd like to talk before I take off.  Also, for any of you actually considering taking the plunge to visit me, I would suggest trying to start coordinating before I leave so that we have time to make sufficient plans!
