We had been told by people that Kakadu wasn't worth visiting, how wrong they were! We were there at the right time of the year, just after the wet season had finished, so there were lots of birds and plenty of water around. Our first stop was Ubirr, which is one of Kakadu's most famous aboriginal rock art galleries.It contained the best rock art we have ever seen, and was in a beautiful place, right on the border to Arnhem Land. Next day we took the Yellow River sunrise cruise from Cooinda. The scenery was spectacular, and the birdlife and close up encounters with crocs was just the best experience. Another place on my bucket list ticked off!
