Where I stayed
I have always wanted to visit Litchfield National Park, and was so happy to finally be there. The place is full of huge waterfalls, beautiful waterholes where you can swim in crystal clear water, and there are loads of walks throughout the park. The first walk we did was at Walker Creek, which was absolutely deserted so we had the whole place to ourselves. The 3.5k return walk followed the fast flowing creek and we swam in the cascades and waterholes. We then headed to the next lot of falls, walked to the top and swam in another cascade. We stayed there for ages, then went to Wangi Falls, which were the best falls in the whole park. There was a huge picnic area, lots of BBQs and green lawns, and a lovely campground. After that we went to Tolmer Falls, Buley Rockhole, and Florence Falls. This is definitely one of the most picturesque places in Australia, and we had picked the best time to visit as the wet season had only just finished so there was an abundance of water.
