After leaving Roswell I B-lined it to Midland Texas where I had a comfy couch waiting for me. On my way there I realized that a lot of Texas smell like oil. Not only does it smell like oil, it looks like there is oil on the roads. It's as if half the state is soaked in that nasty stuff. I arrived in the dark and met my really cool hosts. They took me out to dinner and wouldn't let me pay. I really didn't feel comfortable with it but what could I do? Oh, I invited then to couch surf at my place in Hawaii.
