We booked into our hostel Media Luna and wasted no time in taking a good shower and klapping a big dos (even though I loved sharing a double with Maccers on the boat I sleep better on my own).
That evening we explored the old town which was founded in 1533. It is a beautiful city and it feels like you have been shot back in time to the 1800's. The colonial style buildings are extremely well preserved and horses and carts line the old cobbled streets.
The following day we visited the old fort and the extensive walls that protected the old city from pirates in during the 15th century. That evening we bought a couple of beers sat on one of the walls and admired yet another perfect sunset.
We also visited a mud volcano just outside the city. It was hilarious to see people morph into super mud heroes.
Cartagenha was fun, but I think lacked the adventure we were after, so once we had looked at all the sights and tried our hand at Salsa we were ready to leave.
