What I did
Finally hit the beach

I think the walk home last night must have done me some good as I woke, albeit late this morning, without a hangover. So far my best laid plans for easying off the booze have been hampered by far too many occasions to celebrate.

Today I was finally going to the scratch the itch of going to the beach. I met Sofia at breakfast a very helpful member of staff from the hostel, who advised that I head to Cap D'Ail, the last stop in France before Monaco. A few other people had shown interest in heading to the beach, in the end I left with Andre from Brazil come America, Nicolas zee German and Sofia herself who tells me she is form Transylvania, but I’m not sure if she’s pulling my leg.

After taking bus number 100 which wasn’t so busy this time that I actually enjoyed the views we arrived at Cap D’Ail about 45 minutes later. I wanted to go to this specific beach because I heard you could explore caves and go cliff diving. To be honest the beach itself was a little disappointing. If that is possible being that I am in the Cote D’Azur. The cliff diving wasn’t really accessible without just diving in and I didn’t want to dive into water I didn’t know, plus the beach was pebbly, much like most public beaches in the area. Still I swam out to the caves with Sofia and spent the rest of the afternoon working on my tan.

After a long afternoon of living the beach life, and meeting yet two more Canucks, Lyndsay and Katie we headed back to the hostel, where I would meet up with Kirk and Wes from Bordeaux. We made best laid plans to get early nights and be up for Monaco at 5am and grab the best seats I had scoped out. After catching up on each other’s travels and talking with Katie and Lyndsay I headed to bed at the early time of 1:30am, oops!

Sorry no pictures today as I didn’t take my camera to the beach.
